Porridge is one of the food from Indonesia, the basic ingredients porridge is a rice. I used a short grain of rice, because the type of the short grain rice is a perfect choice to cook porridge. Porridge is a good choice for breakfast, and convalescing patients. From the basic recipe of porridge I had an idea to used rock sugar for my experiment. I used to rock sugar for my experiment, because rock sugar can give a thick texture and savory taste. I used experimental method for this research. Experimental method is a systematical scientific approach to research in which the researcher manipulates one or more variables then control, measure and analyzes any change in other variables.Based on the result from the research using the independent sample t-test it can be conclude that the result sig 2 tailed for taste (0,123) there is no significant difference between control and other products. The result sig 2 tailed for texture (0.000) there is have significant difference between control and other products. In conclusion rock sugar for porridge will not dilution when the porridge is not heated . In addition sweet levels of rock sugar not too sweet like granulated sugar.
